This was by far one of the more harder units in this course. This was the first time that I found myself struggling in the test and not 100 percent sure of myself. I think it is so hard for natives English speakers to learn because we are never exposed to thoughts or learning experiences like this. For this reason, I think many native English teachers are lazy to teach it because we never needed it to learn English, so they may never need it either. However, I learned a lot more than I expected on pronunciation and phonetics, I learned that I speak so naturally that I don't even have to think about the rise or fall of my sentence, nor the stress on my words. I can imagine how hard this is for learners, but I think more importantly than being taught in the classroom, I believe they need to be emerged in an English speaking culture to really learn how to pronounce correctly and naturally. I am very nervous about having to teach this unit to students, because I lack confidence in knowing it and understanding it myself.
