This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit13 is all about general guidelines on how to teach pronunciation to foreign students, mainly English pronunciation. While most teachers would not bother so much to teach this in the classroom, an effective teacher will consider the teaching of proper pronunciation as an integral part in the lesson. It was very helpful that this unit contained a list of phonetic letters and syllables with suggestions for indicating and teaching stress, rhythm and intonation to students. It is important to remember that although a teacher can list all the rules of proper pronunciation to students, it is always better to let them ?feel? the music of the language and naturally learn which parts of the sentence or word they should stress. In short, I have found the information in this unit rather interesting and I will try to adapt the teaching techniques to my class one day.
