This unit discussed a number of most commonly used equipment and teaching aids. Some of the equipment includes but is not restricted to visual aids, white/black boards, computers, worksheets and work cards. The advantages and disadvantages of using the equipment discussed in the unit were given, as well as things to take into consideration before using them. For example, making sure that an OHP is correctly setup and it works before a class begins is very important for a teacher in order to save time and be more organized. I found the teaching aids provided in the unit to be very useful.Writing and speaking can be a intimidating for students as there are many opportunities for them to make mistakes. Therefore, it is important for the teachers to create a positive environment. Things to consider when creating a speaking and writing lesson are, level of students, and picking an interesting topic. When the students are interested they will feel more motivated to participate. When giving feedback the teacher should not reoccurring errors to teach and discuss in another lesson. This will encourage students to continue to focus on the creative process of speaking and writing.
