In this unit the teaching methods of special groups were examined. Young learners, business groups, multilingual groups, individual lessons, beginners ? all of these are considered to be special groups, which require different attitude and different preparation of the lessons. The classroom management, dress code, voice pace and pitch may vary according to the group a teacher is responsible for. For example, teaching one-to-one students, teacher uses many exercises from the activity books, can concentrate on the student?s specific language problems which is impossible in the group class.One of the conditions of successful instruction is a properly organized lesson plan. In this unit, an example of how to create such a plan is demonstrated step by step. The lesson plan includes general information about a class and sets the goals of the lesson for students as well as the teacher. The main focus is aimed toward a detailed description of each phase of the process. Enclosed is also a blank self-evaluation form intended for the teacher to observe the quality of his/her work. The unit is concluded with concrete examples of detailed written material suitable for use during lessons.
