This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers the present tenses used in the english language and gives examples of how they are used and why. The different present tenses are: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. I never knew there were so many different present tenses. Even after graduating high school in the United States and taking multiple advanced placement english and literature classes, I still hadn't learned anything about the present tense that was this in depth. It is true that this is something that natural english speakers just learn and get used to naturally. In this unit, I learned about the systems and structures of four past tenses. They are not as confusing as the present tenses. I especially like the explanation for the \"past perfect\" tense - the past perfect verbs represent actions that occurred before other actions in the past. Therefore, the past perfect is the \"past in the past\". This explanation makes a lot of sense to me. I think using work-sheets or fill-in-blank style exercises would be a better idea to teach the students and it would also be beneficial to combine the present tense and past tense together when creating exercises.
