This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was interesting, as it covered the other 2 skills of language, the productive skills of speaking and writing and the underlying methods to foster development of those areas. As mentioned in previous chapters, interest in the topic seems to be a frequent motivator in developing these skills, so it is important to spark the students' interest at the beginning of a lesson. Games are also included at the end of the unit, giving some ideas for games that have been proven to be effective in the classroom. The part that I found the most interesting was the spelling/punctuation difficulties that could arise as a result of the possibility of some students' native language being completely different in terms of the alphabet that they use, writing styles, etc. This was a useful chapter overall which I'm sure will benefit me in the future.
