Unit 11 is about receptive skills; reading and listening. It talks about the different reasons for reading and listening and how people can read something differently based on their pre-existing knowledge. It defines the different components of reading and gives examples, such as, skimming, scanning, and predicting. The unit talks about how to best teach a lesson with reading and listening incorporated. For example, if you are going to have the students listen to something, make sure you teach them difficult vocabulary in the listening section so that they will understand it more when they listen.
