This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this section, I learned many ways to teach the English language. I learned different techniques that are both fun and helpful for students. In example, ESA (Engage-Study-Activate), taught me that before teaching a lesson, you must get the students in the groove of things, and elicit as much as you can to see what they students know and need a refresher on. I also learned the most beneficial way in correcting students. It is best to let the student correct their own mistake, then have other students help if they still cannot get it. After that, the teacher can step in as a last resort. I now know that there is a difference between mistakes and errors, mistakes being tiny flukes that can be fixed, while errors are things that repeatedly occur and can risk a student learning the wrong material.
