This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This section was about speaking phonetically correct. There was a lot of detail on the subject. It has rules on when syllables, words and sentence structures should be stressed..or intoned. There was a lot of information on the biology of producing phonetic sounds and an internationally accepted list of the phonetic symbols. There is SO much information that goes into this subject, that I take completely for granted as a native speaker of English. No one had to teach me the majority of these rules. I learned through mimicking and normal speech patterning of my environment. This unit will require a lot of revisiting for me. But, it will be very useful when I'm faced with common pronunciation errors from my students.
