Before beginning this unit, I thought the future tense would be the simplest verb tense, in comparison to both the present and past tenses. Yet, after reviewing the unit, the future tense seems to be the most difficult. There are many ways to say something will happen in the future. I also learned from this unit that the future tense is also very concerned about an individual's predictions and intentions and whether they are premeditated, something I inherently knew but was not consciously aware of. I think this knowledge is helpful in the classroom, because the teacher is aware of the complexities of the future tense. However, my own personal use at a lower-level high school in Japan, my students mostly utilize the future simple and going-to future tenses.
