This unit shows two video examples contrasting a poorly taught class and a well taught class. We are able to see why the first class had difficulty. The teacher's poor attitude and lack of techniques affected the students level of comfort and participation. His poor and unclear instructions led to the students being confused and unsure of the language point. The second video demonstrates how the proper use of the techniques we have learned can greatly improve the success of a lesson. For example, a simple gesture (smile), a positive attitude, encouragement to the students, prompts, using names, visual aids, mime, and voice (slower and clearer) made the second class much more successful.
