For any teacher, I believe class management is as important as content knowledge. A teacher that knows everything about his or her subject but has poor classroom management, may not be able to provide his or her students with all the information they need. In order for the students to learn, the classroom - the teacher's responsibility - needs to be organized and maintained appropriately. The teacher needs to be mindful of the students and be able to build a strong rapport with them. However, having the right seating arrangement or strongest rapport with the students could be lost if the teacher's content knowledge is poor. The students are eager to learn - that's why they're there - and if they feel their learning experience is being cut short, then rapport and participation may be compromised.
