I learned the importance of lesson planning while still being flexible. Lesson plans are great tools because it aids the teacher in being organized and being able to achieve their goals or what they expect their student to learn by the end of the lesson. The lesson plan also acts as a reference that the teacher can use to keep track during the lesson, and a record that would help the teacher known what has been covered and its results. Additionally, in case the teacher can't go to work it would aid the substitute teaher.
It is important to remember that to complete a good lesson plan the teacher has to keep it simple, flexible, maintain a structure, anticipate time for each activity, predict any problems that can occur, make sure the activities fit together and much more. It is always recommended that to form a lesson the teacher remember to choose a structure that fit with the lesson being planned for example it could be a structure the is as the straight forward arrow, boomerang or ESA(engage, study, activite).
