The unit focussed on the receptive skills, reading and listening. The unit reflected on why we read and how we read, in terms of scanning, detailed reading etc. There are several problems students can come across while reading and listening, and the unit taught me how to prevent this as a teacher by carefully selecting the text, choice of topic and creating interest for the topic. The unit gave an example lesson, so I have an idea how I can teach a receptive lesson. I am more interested in teaching the pre-schoolers. The lessons for pre-schoolers will be more focussed on phonics, as they are not (yet) able to read and write.
