This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The modals of English are used to express how certain we are about something. The modals such as can, could, may, might, must, shall and would are used in different ways to express a speaker?s attitude and the strength of that attitude. I am better able to distinguish between the passive voice and the active voice of English. I understand that we sometimes use passive voice when we have no idea or we do not want to say who performs the action. Furthermore, verbs can be either be transitive or intransitive. A verb that has a direct object is transitive while a verb without a direct object is intransitive. This unit was very interesting and the task sheet was good practice.
