The content of this unit went over the uses of the conditional. The conditional is used often to express possibility or in communication with others in a he said/ she said manner. There are five main conditionals, zero, first, second, third, and mixed that are used in common speech. It is used to state facts, possibilities, regrets, make predictions, and state desires. It is interesting how changing the tense of verb can completely change the meaning of the sentence, so with this, it is important to know them well to teach to others how to properly use the conditionals. This unit also went over reported and direct speech, which helps to guide students on how to report what others said to them. For reported speech it is important to know the different tenses past and future and how to clearly state the meaning of the statements someone else said by either changing or keeping the tense based on the occurrence.
