In unit 12, I studied the productive skills. These are speaking and writing.
Speaking (it requires a greater degree of fluency)
It is part of the activate phase. It allows the students to experiment and be creative with the language.
The activities can be classified into:
-controlled (drilling, prompting)
-guided (model dialogues, guided role play)
-creative (free role play, discussions, information gap, debates, etc)
Writing (it requires a greater degree of accuray)
It is part of the study phase.
Many factors should be considered while teaching it. These are: spelling, pronunciation, punctuation and handwriting.
