This unit helped me learn about the importance of listening and reading and what techniques and activities should be used to help students improve these skills. It is important to know what the reasons for listening and reading are and which skills students employ when they listen and read specific material. Reasons for listening and reading can be for a purpose or entertainment. I have also learnt about the problems with listening and reading and how to solve them. It is important to pre-teach the vocabulary essential to undrestanding of the text, choose variety of topics that will motivate students and provide comprehension exercises.
