I would like to begin by saying that the Silent Method sounds very unusual and unnatural, and I would not be comfortable teaching in that manner. I'm glad you advocate for a different approach! In the classes I have taught in the past, it is very difficult to predict what the students will and won't understand. Therefore, I believe that, based on the description, I would prefer to use Patchwork ESA as a model for my classes. While many of the activity suggestions would work very well for children, I wonder if adults would be as receptive and willing to participate. I guess I'll just have to see!
