In Unit 10 we were allowed to observe two really different classes. Although the subject was the same, the classroom management and teaching styles were quite the opposite of each other. It gave a chance to examine the teacher and learn from his mistakes and strengths. It was really obvious that in the first video the teacher was unprepared and his teaching style wasn't efficient at all. The students stayed uninterested and they didn't even get any Student Talk Time to improve. In the second video on the other hand, the teacher was using a Straight Arrow ESA lesson and involved the students in a very effective learning environment. The teacher used the students' names and constantly used his gestures to improve understanding. He was well prepared and creative. This unit was very useful, because usually we hear about the good solutions and teaching styles, but this way we could see a bad example as well, which makes comparison easier.
