For this unit I watched videos of two lessons teaching the same topic to two classes in very different ways. The first lesson was an example of an unsuccessful lesson as the teacher was disengaged himself and made no real efforts to engage the students. The students were confused and did not understand the material. In the second lesson, the teacher began with getting to know the students in a positive manner and began with an Engage phase that was at a level appropriate for the students and started the lesson on the right track. The teacher's attitude allowed the students to be more positive and engaged throughout the entire lesson, and they were therefore able to understand the material in the second lesson that was not understood in the first lesson.
