It was very helpful in this unit to see examples of the teaching techniques discussed in previous units. It is a lot easier to see mistakes or things that could be done better when watching someone else teach than when teaching oneself. Seeing the stark difference between the two videos allowed me to reflect on my own past teaching experiences and to consider what my teaching style would look like to an observer. This is helpful in noting areas for improvement and I will use this perspective going forward as I continue to improve my teaching. Furthermore, to see the profound difference these teaching styles had on the class and their comprehension is a reminder of the cost of making basic errors to the most important stakeholder--the students.
