This unit covered how a teacher can teach a new language to students, involving the main points of vocabulary, grammatical structure and language functions. By reading each technique about the three points, I was reminded of my own foreign language classes and the different ways that my teachers would engage us as a class, particularly when it came to vocabulary and grammatical structure. Language function seems to be the most difficult for a non-native speaker because of the different inflections and tone that people use to convey their message, while also taking into account English slang and informal speech that is used by younger people, which could make a learner of English confused if they are only taught formal English language.
