Learning about the productive skills speaking and writing has taught me how and why we need to teach these skills to the students. If the students are not able to correctly punctuate, spell or write the words correctly it could cause misunderstanding. It is important for the students to learn to write correctly so that they are taken seriously and are correctly understood. Speaking is also a very important skill for the students to learn because when they are in an English speaking environment they will need to have the skills to understand the regular paced speaking, and the vocabulary that English speakers use. They will also need to think of a reply quicker than with writing and speak with correct pronunciation so that they are understood in return. Creative writing, and role playing are great ways to enhance these skills in the students and make it a fun and enticing environment to learn in.
