This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This is the last grammar unit focusing on phrasal verbs, modal verbs and passive voice. Phrasal verbs can be difficult for students to understand (ex: ?I look up to Beyonce?) and can be dropped in normal speech so that the students gradually pick up on it, and use it in their conversations as well. Also, if teaching a certain subject such as driving, the teacher could add in additional phrasal verbs, so that the students become more familiar with them. Modal verbs (can, might, should, must, etc.) express obligation, ability, advice, possibility, and permission. It is important for the students to know the meaning of the sentence can change depending on which modal verb is used. Finally, passive voice can change the focus of a sentence. Passive voice is used when we don?t know or don?t want to reveal who performs the action (or maybe it is not important to give this information). In teaching passive voice a variety of activities can be used, such as a role play news report or stating authors and book titles.
