This lesson covered many different teaching methodologies as well as the Engage-Study-Activate (ESA) method, which is now considered the best method for effective language instruction. I had heard of some of the older methodologies and experienced first-hand some of the techniques like pure language drilling, so this lesson was very helpful in learning which methods are most effective for language learners. This lesson also covered giving corrections and feedback to students as well as stressed the fact that while corrections are important, it is also very important to praise students for what they have done well. This has made me consider the fact that I do not always praise my students during every class, so I will make sure to praise them more rather than just give corrections in order to keep their motivation high and their desire to learn English strong.
