Reading and listening skills both hold the same level of importance for students comprehension. Likewise, people use receptive skills for enjoyable tasks like reading a novel or play, or listening to the lyrics of a song. Regardless of the motive, having these two receptive skills allow a person to have a grasp on a particular language and communicate at a higher level. These ideas can easily be brought into the classroom with activities that require students to listen to each other or read any material that may interest the group.
