Classroom management is an important skill for teachers. Managing a classroom is a process by which teachers and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in classroom settings. Unit 5 emphasizes the value of dealing with the myriad of tasks and situations that take place in the classroom every day. Specifically highlighted in this unit are issues on effective use of eye contact, gestures, and voice to get students? attention; how students be grouped or seated so all of them will be given opportunity to shine; how instructions be made clear so students can easily follow; how to build rapport among them; and how to manage behavioral problems.
