Lesson planning is the concept covered in this unit. Some argue whether or not lesson planning is completely necessary, however, for new teachers it is highly recommended. Lesson plans are helpful because they give a time estimate for each activity, predict possible problem areas as well as how to aviod or overcome, and allow smooth transitions from one lesson to another. Lesson plans are extremely useful because they help keep the teacher organized so that there is a record of what has been taught. Some important things to include in your lesson plan are(but not limited to) the learner objectives, the language theme of the lesson, anticipated problems, which activites will be used, the timing for each activity and the number of students expected.
