In this unit I learnt the conditionals and reported speech.
There are in fact 4 conditionals; zero, first, second and third conditional and a fifth one that's a mix of two - most commonly the second with the third conditional. Possible activities for the students are to give them a split sentences with the conditionals and have them match up the two parts of the sentence. I can also divide them in pairs or groups and ask them to write sentences or a story using the conditionals (could be just one of the conditionals or all of them, depending in the class level), using a given subject such as: \"If I were.... , I would... etc.)
The second subject of this unit is the direct and reported speech and the backshifting we see from direct to reported speech. For this subject a possible activity would be a role-play in threes or in groups, when one student reports what another student is saying. I can also do this with the entire class (depending on how many students are there in the class).
