This unit goes over the basics of understanding how to be a good teacher and the different roles the teacher can play in the classroom. These various roles have their own place and level of appropriateness for each situation and should be used in variety and judged based on effectiveness with each group of students. Additionally, we learn the various aspects of a \"learner\" and how a multitude of factors can contribute to the benefit or detriment of a learner's ability to retain information and learn properly based on these factors. Language level is also a key point to understanding how to approach a student, as well as their age. These combined can help a teacher to understand and figure out which methods might be best to optimally benefit their students. Finally, keeping students motivated and understanding their different levels of motivation is also important to be aware of and include in lesson plans and class interactions.
