This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is focusing on Classroom Management. A good deal of the course seems like common sense when first reading it. Such as, maintaining good eye contact, knowing when best to and what kind of gesture to use, and having a voice that projects well and is engaging to the students. Next up is how to group the students appropriately depending on the lesson (whole-class, pairs, individuals, and groups). Then it covers classroom arrangement i.e. rows, circles, group tables and where the teacher should be depending on how the classroom is setup; as well as, what part of the lesson is in play. For instance standing for full attention, sitting while they read or walking around the room to monitor activity but not interrupting. The course then references the merits of TTT and STT, building rapport, and maintaining discipline in the class.
