This unit gives an overview of pronunciation & phonology. This unit states that most pronunication teachings concentrate on individual sounds, but it is not the most important aspect. Phonology is the study, science, analysis, and classification of the physical properties of sounds. Stress, rhythm, and intonation are all areas that make up phonology. How you say a word, put certain emphasis on certain parts of a word and your tone/intonation great greatly impact the meaning beyond its definition. I learned about phonemic alphabet which is another why to put sounds to the English language in order for non native English speakers to learn another way to pronounce the letters and sounds of the English alphabet.
