I was really taken a back by the first lesson, he was a total jerk. Not at all encouraging, warm, open, and he was completely dismissive. Even the squeaky whiteboard pen contributed to the demise of the class. Repeating \"it's so easy\" over and over, made me think if it is so easy why can't you teach it. It was really off-putting and I'm not even in the classroom. The second lesson turned everything around instantly--simply by making introductions. What I learned from this section are the many effective ways to infuse excitement and learning into the classroom environment. Starting by knowing the names of your students, staying open, miming, language drilling, a little laughter, and a smile.
