Unit 12 was mostly concerned with speaking and writing portions of learning. This unit began by contrasting producing correct language (accuracy) and producing creative language (fluency). I learned that drilling is a controlled activity and guided role-plays are guided activities. I also learned that drilling is an accuracy building exercise where language is controlled by the teacher and free role-plays train fluency and students control the output content. After studying this unit I understand that the four key concepts of writing skills are: handwriting, spelling, punctuation and creativity. Another important part of unit 12 is the list of fun games to consider playing with a future class such as hangman, crosswords or Pictionary. It can be noted that unit 12 focuses on the concepts, structures, and games involved with teaching speaking and writing.
