Past tenses are divided into four stages: the past simple,past continuous,past perfect and past perfect continuous.Each of them have their form that when conjugating,we must remember the affirmative,negative,and the question form,not forgetting the usage of each tenses.
In the past tens,we use ed at the end of a verb,example: i played.the following below are some of the examples in past tenses.
(a) past simple tense: John went to America yesterday.
(b) Past continuous:I was watching television last night.
(c) past perfect:Mary started eating when peter arrived.
(d) Past perfect continuous:Jonathan had been working in that company for three years.
