Tests are used as an assessment for students to see what they have learnt and also what they understood from what was being taught in a class. There are different types of test that can be used to test a student learning ability. These are diagnostic test, placement test, progress test and practice test. Diagnostic test are used at the start of the class to see what the students remember or do not remember. It helps the teacher to plan future lessons on where to start. Placement test are used to place students into groups which are sometimes being ranked. Progress test are used to see if the students are improving or not after being taught the lesson. Practice test are what they use to prepare students for external exams. Basically each test has it role in preparing students on their knowledge of what they understand.
