In unit 9 we looked at lesson planning. The writing of a lesson plan has three important functions: an aid to planning, a working document and a record. There is no special way a lesson plan should be written down, but there are some basic principles one can follow. For example, keep the plan simple and do not try and script the lesson. Being organised by doing things like checking if your equipment work is always important.
It is recommended that a lesson plan contain the following:
Lerner objectives
Personal Goals
Language point
Teaching aids
Anticipated problems
Procedure
Phase
Timing
Interaction
Class level
Number of students
Date/Time
Teacher's and observer's names
