This unit is difficult and very essential to successful EFL teaching and learning. Without a structure and a specific methodology neither teacher nor student will attain their goal. Engage,study,and activate (ESA), after now having studied the alternatives, seems to be the most successful and practical approach to EFL. I feel more confident knowing if necessary I can use variations on the theme; as in the \"Boomerang or \"Patchwork\" approaches to ESA because it is clear although all elements of ESA must be adhered to not all students are created equal. Sometimes a teacher may have to use a variation of the theme in order to reach the goal of any given class or course.
