Modal verbs add meaning to the main verbs. Examples of modal verbs are can, could, have to, need to, should, etc. They can express different ideas, such as obligation, possibility, permission, ability, advice, different degrees of formality. There are two kinds of voices, passive and active. We use a passive voice when it's not important or not known who made an action. There are three kinds of clauses, such as independent clause(complete sentence), dependent clause(not a complete sentence) and relative clause(dependent clause that modifies a noun). Phrasal verb are divided into three types: intransitive (cannot be followed by a direct object), transitive separable(only between verb and the particle), transitive inseparable (words are both after the particle).
