This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Using technology in the classroom has become common place the past couple of years in ESL/EFL classrooms in South Korea. In my classroom I currently have an IWB smart board and find it useful for the learners in my class to interact with. For example I will introduce new vocabulary by placing flash card pictures and words on the board mixed up and looking like puzzle pieces. Each learner will drag the words and pictures to make a match. All of the learners in the class enjoy the activity and it makes for a great segway into a new unit.
In my opinion new technology should be implemented constantly in classrooms where it possible but also outside of school as well. Publishers are making more and more supplemental materials for learners on phones, tablets, and PCs. This is making English easier to learn but also to teach. I'm excited about what the future holds for teaching with all the new upcoming technology.
