This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 11 introduces two out of the four basic skills in any language; the receptive skills, which are reading and listening. The reasons and motives for reading or listening is that they're either for a purpose, or for entertainment. This unit thoroughly explains the special skills that reading and listening employs and also how to deal with the problems that receptive skills can present. For example, these problems usually connect with the language in the text like sentence length, word length, or a number of unfamiliar words. What I've learned from this unit is that as a teacher you should be able to choose a topic that will keep the class interested and also get them to motivate and engage in the lesson.
