This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 4's topic present tense is a very important topic for teaching ESL/EFL. Present tense is the most common tense spoken by non-native speakers and due to there being various forms I feel is the hardest for learners to learn. The biggest problem I feel that learners face is learning how to tell the difference between past tense and present perfect. Present perfect uses past tense verbs that can confuse the learner due to the simple nature of verbs ending in ed are past tense. The activities at the end of the unit such as job interview and surveying are both very good activities to use when teaching adults this topic. However, for younger learners, I feel that repetition may be the best way to teach this topic.
