Unit 9 is about books and materials. Course books consist of student's books, work book, cassettes, and the teacher's book. There are advantages and disadvantages to using a course book. It is vital to not lean on it as a crutch as the teacher. Making sure it is interesting to the students. The teacher can omit, replace, supplement or adapt the material for such purposes. There are authentic and created materials. Authentic material consists of native items of interest such as newspaper articles, magazines, etc. I learned the importance of being creative and catering to my student's interests to help the learn more effectively.
