Unit10 was a video lesson. This unit gave me the opportunity to observe a real life English language classroom which is quite different from my experience as a kindergarten teacher. It showed two videos where the same lesson was taught twice by the same teacher to the same students in a different manner, attitude and teaching style. In lesson1, The teacher`s class management was very poor, He was mean and self-centered thereby making the Students feel unmotivated and the lesson was ineffective. During the lesson2, He presented the same grammar lesson in a more effective method and approach, He made use of elicitation method which allowed high student`s talk time during the Engage and study phase, He was friendly with a smiley face which gave the students more confident to learn and at the end of the lesson, the learners objectives was achieved.
In this unit, I learned that your attitude as a teacher and interaction with your students contributes major efficiency of your learner's ability and motivation to learn.
