Generally there are a number of ways to evaluate a student's language level, tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests.
There are a also a numerous tests that can be used.
- Placement test - as to where to place new students
- Progress test - used periodically to gauge what language has been remembered or acquired and what language has been forgotten
- Diagnostic test - this test is given at the start of the course to see what the students already know and to help teacher to prepare lessons and materials for future lessons
- Practice test - this test should follow the format and structure of the external examination that they are being given in preparation for.
