Teaching productive skills, writing and speaking, is very important. When focusing on these skills, the teacher must consider a combination of both accuracy and fluency activities. Being able to create effective activities for each will help students be more successful. To encourage students to interact during speaking activities, it is vital to create group/pair work, include a lot of guided practice before fluency activities, and allow students time to think before speaking. When teaching writing, the teacher must also focus on grammar, vocabulary, spelling, handwriting, punctuation and layout. Using games on a regular base in the classroom will create a fun, interactive atmosphere.
