Unit 6 introduces general ideas of the past tenses and reveals the analytical way of their presentation (i.e. certain similarities in usage and interconnected explanation). According to my own experience, being able to talk about the past is extremely appealing for learners, that is why it is important to provide them with full and structured information. Section ?Sample activate teaching ideas? presents entertaining and helpful activities for drilling past tenses (especially I like writing CV for irregular forms and ?Detective game? for Past Continuous tense). Finally, I will definitely use advice from ?Common mistakes? section on Past Perfect Continuous tense ? this tense causes some problems even for bright students, so a new-angle presentation of the topic is a great way to avoid that problems.
