This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, I have learned about all the different types of sentences, verbs, subjects, etc. and their forms. These include present simple form, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. I learned that present perfect form relates the past to present experiences which could cause difficulty for the non-native English speaker. I also learned about various activities you could try with your classes such as having a student write down a past activity on a piece of paper and a result. I could also survey my class to find out who's been doing something the longest. This unit talks about pronunciation and phonology. In the classroom there should be time given to pronunciation, stress and intonation practice. Intonation is considered to be the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence, whereas stress is more concerned with individual words. There are 44 phonemic symbols.According to the places of articulation, they are divided into velar, palatal, palatal- alveolar, alveolar, dental, labio-dental, bilabial and glottal. According to the manners of articulation, they are divided into plosive, fricative, nasal, lateral, affricate and approximant.
