Unit 18 gives a list of the modal auxiliary verbs and the different contexts in which they can be used. some of them are: can, should, may, must, have to, need to. some of the different contexts in which they can be used are: for request, necessity, permission, ability etc.
we also looked at the passive and active voice. In the passive form, the object of the active voice becomes the subject of the passive.
we looked at the three different types of clauses and they are the independent, dependent and the relative clause and finally, we looked at the phrasal verbs which usually consist of the the verb plus one or two particles.
